I like going to Las Tinajas, traditional bar with appetizing starters, real good the pies and fish fry. We also tried the rice with lobster.

November 2015

Tasty menu and reasonably priced...
We only had time for a lunch but would have liked to have an evening meal there too. Each had a speciality dish which was excellent and the waiter went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

September 2015

Great restaurant...
Great tapas! They have won various rewards for their food. There are letters from King Juan Carlos and even his father the former King on the wall thanking them for their meals. Eggplant tapas are great and even their deserts are to die for although you may not have room for them. I love this place!

Very good service...
A short walk from our hotel, we chose to dine in their outside street tables. Nice wine selection, very friendly service, good food, excellent deserts.

July 2015

Business lunch...
Excellent service today and the ham is highly recommended. Very good staff & waiters in the restaurant.

Gluten free with special care...
Though not really a gluten and dairy free option spot, the chef visited out table to personally prepare some options for my wife. The location off the busy Main Street is quiet and cozy. Food and service were wonderful. Please drop in.

The best red meat in Andalusia...
Slow food Spanish cuisine at its best. The restaurant looks vintage. The waiters know how to serve. This place is for real foodies looking for classic oldschool Iberian mainland food.

Wonderful meal...
We had a delightful meal of steak, red wine and pepper, montefrio cheese and avocado salad with house made pate all for 62 euros for two. We shared the starter and the main course which was more than enough food. Our waiter was excellent and attentive and we highly recommend a dinner here, recommended by staff at our hotel.

October 2014

A real spanish restaurant...
We were the only English people in the place. We ate at the bar...it was great....so we returned for a second time.

August 2014

Happy experience...
As part of a tour group we lunched on a set menu featuring the best of Granadian and Andalusian cuisine. The ambiance was great and the courses were of good quality and generous size. The house wines were also of good quality, and the service was professional, resulting in a happy dining experience. Recommended.

The last meal I enjoyed here was sublime, and also at the level of food and service are also the courtesy of Silvia and the whole team. Congratulations!

May 2014

Genial!
I was having dinner with my partner, and the experience lived up to expectations. The service was right, the girl who checked us was lovable and friendly. The food was spectacular, I took fish which was very juicy, and my partner ate flesh, who seemed butter. A treat dinner. Glad I have repeated ... I will do it again.

Gourmet Classicism in Granada.
A reference in Granada. It enjoys a loyal clientele and is must see place. Its walls are covered with photos from all types of characters: artists, bullfighters, politicians ...
The attention to us was excellent. Especially its owner Jose Alvarez who advised us on dishes we ordered and chatted amiably with us.
We ordered Shrimps of Motril and excellent sacromonte omelet based on brains, marrow and sweetbreads. Second oxtail, Iberian cheek and aioli cod au gratin.
The room exudes tradition and classicism.
Very nice bar to take some of their award-winning tapas on more than one occasion.
Do not leave without trying the house wine of Ribera de Duero (Convent of sta. Clara) with 94 Parker points.

Very nice.
Las Tinajas is a very good restaurant with a tapas bar in, very good portions, high quality restaurant and a very professional service and nice. They take good care of detail that made conquer me. I always recommend my foreign students and they leave very happy. It also has a beautiful terrace. It is always among my favorites.

The place is not cheap, but the quality of the service and the food is spectacular ... a restaurant really good good in truth.

March 2014

The "tapa" of this year's contest is exquisite ... a very pleasant surprise. Too bad this year even if they wanted to be original have used the handle as most bars and restaurants that have been presented. Notwithstanding definitely recommend.

February 2014

Traditional cuisine with a modern twist, friendly atmosphere and the treatment more than correct, their wine list is very very good and the only thing not good is the dining room full almost always. Everything we tried 9.5 over 10 and perfect attendance, recommend your almond soup and excellent meat.

We celebrate Valentine there and it was amazing. Good menu at 35 € with drink included. Very good food. Good ambient with tables decorated for the day. We liked very much. We'll repeat.

I went with my partner, she has gluten intolerance, and from the moment that we told, all were attention and well do. The food is also great and adapted to the needs of my partner. Very highly recommended and thanks for kindly treatment they gave us.

January 2014

I had heard that it is at the best of Granada, and the truth is that we loved. Excellent food and service. I'll repeat.

I went recently to Granada and they recommended this restaurant, I ordered a salad typical of Granada which was very good and second we ordered a sirloin steak with mushroom sauce very good quality, the sauce in the same line, tasty and fittings also nice. Upon arrival, the table we had booked was occupied by a person who was eating because we had arrived early and had to wait for about 10-15 minutes, so we sat at the bar and they invited us to a beer with a very good snack. They invited us because not having our table available although at no time we said them that they did, but we found it as a gesture that denotes the level of the establishment. A highly recommended site.

We went to dinner ... we were seven in total and booked. I have to say that I had never been to this downtown restaurant and I was surprised to see many photos of famous people, politicians, bullfighters, journalists .... They collected our coats and take them into the wardrobe, and you dont have to worry about them.
We seat immediately and we were attended soon, very correct in the deal, and with drinks, they put a exquisite pate and some kind of sauce I dont know if some kind of aioli. Everyone ordered a plate, excellent fryed fish, very fresh fish, beef tenderloin, tasty pork tenderloin Iberian at sherry sauce.... all exquisite, perhaps the special burger with mustard sauce not quite remember a hamburger to my friend, too thick but overall tasty. And that the homemade desserts in the display case get themselves by the eyes, pudding, cheese cake with cranberries, pumpkin pastry with hint of cinnamon all homemade and very good.
The ambient of the place with a slight background music. Without this very low or very high allowing conversation without shouting, so the restaurant is nothing noisy. Temperature also correct and of course a superb value for money.

I was a good customer while I lived in the city. Lobster salad very good, also the broth or bouillon. Remojón granaíno very good. Excellent meats. Very good Red prawns from Garrucha, with good size. Extensive wine list. Very good homemade desserts.

A superb dinner of new year's eve, dishes care to detail, exquisite food and super-attentive waiters, great time and enjoyed, definitely i would repeat.

September 2013

We enjoyed our visit to Las Tinajas from our nearby hotel for dinner. We were seated outside with glass screens between us and the road which gave a secluded feel to the space on a warm evening. Service was quick and helpful, food delicious and good wines. We had the fillet steak as our mains. I would have liked some green vegetables which is probably a cultural difference. Glad we went and would go again.

It is decorated with wood and authentic jars, creating a rustic and cozy ambient.

January 2012

We were eating with the family and the truth is that it was spectacular, we ate some fresh shrimp and spectacular, poached eggs, eggplant and then spectacular, fish were very fresh and wonderful meats. Desserts without comment (as you go and taste ice cream rice pudding you will understand). The price standard and perfect service and very friendly. I recommend it to everyone. Exceptional.

June 2011

Very good value for money. All the dishes we ate were very good and well prepared and the service was excellent. Ultimately, as the occasion we celebrate required, all the family went very happy . Would definitely repeat and recommend. Especially the dishes they served us.

May 2011

It's like Zacarias at Santander, BBQ Donostiarra at Madrid, a place where you can eat well, quality, friendly service and photos that remind you of the celebrity who has walked through that place.

It's a good service restaurant with a great wine list and delicious food.

January 2011

May 2007

This Holy Week I've been eating at Las Tinajas, a restaurant in Granada that put an exquisite meat. I ordered a grilled steak and my husband grilled lamb, everything was great, dessert after a delicious cheese cake and some snacks before, blood sausage, scrambled eggs with garlic and grilled shrimp. ... now that I think very little jajajaja regime. A new journey and working lunch took me to Granada. As the goal was to entertain a customer who has signed with my company recently, the partner of Granada had to find a place of absolute security, and his election was this great restaurant located in the center of Granada ...

April 2007

There, the hospitality of its owner, Jose Alvarez Baena, completed an excellent meal. This is a classic restaurant in Granada, where I had occasion to eat at a couple of times about ten years ago ...
Admission is by a small bar, with walls lined with photos of Jose with different personalities (I insist, personalities, pseudo-famous middling or had not or were so few that did not see them) ranging from the royal family to bullfighters, from politicians to movie stars and song. A beer with a snack of paella we have to throw to eat ...

We started with a shrimp of Motril, very fresh, delicious and perfect doneness. We continue with a fried fishes of Motril, perfectly made with a light batter. Still we dared with some artichoke hearts stuffed with foie gras, which proved a surprising combination of flavors. And we finished the first stage with a few rolls of eggplant stuffed with oxtail for which I have no words, but I can assure you that i'm salivating even when writing ...
In the second course, except for a couple of people who opted for hake, one battered and another with their backs to the oven and they said they were perfect. I opt for the beef tenderloin with foie gras which was also superb. And the other diners opted for different meats (Iberian pork and beef entrecote of Ávila) that they looked great ...
All soaked with a pair of magnum from Pago Carraovejas crianza (fabulous red wine), which combine perfectly. Prices are not small, but the price-quality relation is really good, so it is certainly an excellent choice when we come to this beautiful city.
